Join Preserve the ‘Burg at the recently renovated historic Beach Theatre to kick off the Fall season! First opened in 1940, the theatre served as the entertainment heart of St. Pete Beach for over 60 years before closing in 2012. The Hockman Family purchased the cinema in 2024 with the goal of restoring the building’s former glory for a new audience and reopened in July 2025.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, with a 7 PM screening of the documentary "A New Wave: The Revival of The Beach Theatre". This original short film by Lunar Speedboat Productions captures the extraordinary journey of bringing the beloved Beach Theatre back to life. The screening will be immediately followed by a conversation with Hannah Hockman (Beach Theatre owner and Director), Manny Leto (PTB executive director), and Tom Scofield (Preservation Planner, Pinellas County).
Tickets are $25 for PTB members (passcode required) and $30 for non-members. The first 100 registrants will receive a ticket for a beverage or concession stand snack.
